What is Old Kool?
We are an independent and privately owned Kustom lifestyle magazine, containing kustom automobiles, old style motorcycles, custom bicycles and other vehicles with great stance. Vintage lifestyle and people. Interesting low brow-art and design from stilettos to streamline. Top notch happenings presented thoroughly in our articles. Our emphasis is in Scandinavian vehicles, but we do pay visits to other areas in the kustom world as well. All Old Kool articles are written in Finnish and English.
We like to pay careful attention to our articles, keep them interesting and fun to read. The outlook of the mag is stylish and we choose our articles with care, to keep up the spirit. Let the other mags take car of the bulk... Pictures are the gem of a good magazine, we pay extra care to make them look good.
Who is behind Old Kool?
Pekka Mannermaa is known around Europe as Wizzard the pinstriper. Besides this, he has been writing on magazines since mid seventies. He is also a trained industrial designer and teacher of the craft. He loves design from thirties to late sixties and he has been owner of custom cars since the eighties.
What do you not find in Old Kool?
- Billet parts - big boobed bimboes - too short articles of meetings - basic stuff that everyone is publishing - tuning imports. We don’t discriminate anyone, but we want to keep the stance of the mag clear to our readers.

About Old Kool background
Pekka has been writing on Finnish hot rod magazines since the first issue of V8-Magazine was published in 1978. We have been writing articles on many Finnish and Foreign magazines. We have also been establishing the largest outdoor enthusiast vehicle meeting in Finland, Harrasteauto Pick-Nick in Forssa (1984). Today we arrange with our buddies the Do-Dads Reunion custom car meeting and Räyskälä Vintage Drags. We have practically brought the art of pinstriping to Finland by organizing painting workshops for over 20 years.
